About The Author

Biography

Gregoire de Kalbermatten was born in Lausanne, Switzerland in 1949. He studied law, international relations and political sciences in Geneva, Bologna and at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, USA. He has been active in banking, diplomacy and international cooperation where he served in the fields of capital funding for the least developed countries and global environment protection. He directed, co-authored and published a number of books and studies in related fields. His activities included developing projects, organizing numerous high level meetings or ministerial conferences and leading over 400 missions in countries all over the world.

This background explains his continued interest for global affairs and sharing the concerns of many to better face the many threats of systemic failures facing our planetary society. The range of these threats is quite wide, from the breakdown of eco system services under scenarios of climate change to the inequity of financial markets. His deep interest in cross cultural understanding and spiritual awakening is part of a response to such challenges.

Gregoire de Kalbermatten is married, has three children and a cute grand daughter.
